As cheap as the art was, the effect is something I have NEVER seen before! You might have something here if you do some more research & development.

I was reading a book in my college library and I tried some of the effects from chapter 10 (fake 3-d) and it worked, I am now making a full game of this and I just used this to test the reaction of fake 3-d.

I like the smoking effects and the collapse animations, but it looked a bit choppy. There's also this one building that doesn't seem to react to my sight. :( Also, how do I know when I win? >)

Woah, NEAT! I like how you used the MMX4 stage select theme during the opening...that really is an anticipation theme, right there.
Hey! That dialogue between X and Zippo was GREAT, with them getting into a silly little argument... You should improve the background a bit, though, even if it is less of the focus.

Hmm...the whole gameplay takes a little while to get used to...some tweaks to be made, of course, but I wish there were also some enemies getting in our way so we didn't just have to concentrate on getting to those generators.
Throwing in a foe or two could really expand your puzzle possibilities on this one.
I'll keep trying at this one...a must-play for all Zero fans.
